Both jobs have a lot of responsibilities within the industry. The Producer is responsible for everything running smoothly so will be in contact with all, if not most, of the crew. The Cinematographer is responsible for the picture looking the way that the director wants. This means they need to be able to manipulate teams like the lighting team or the camera operators.
On a film set, Producers like Steven Spielberg would have to make sure everyone arrives on time, is ready to work and that no problems with the sets, costume, makeup or any other crucial areas have arisen. Cinematographers like Christopher Nolan would need to make sure that the lighting is set up correctly and that all the cameras are set up and maintained correctly.
