Josh (the producer) and me (director) started the production schedules and delegated work evenly.
I started helping Ben out with the script a little and we developed the idea a bit more. I also
started the Recce Sheets with Josh’s help.
I also reached out to actors and actresses to check that they are still ok to work
with us.
-How successful you were in those tasks 
We were successful, we were rather slow to start off with but it picked up afterwards.

We need to start quicker and to not talk as much as we work

As the director, I completed the risk assessment, finished the treatment with Toby and Ben,
after which I helped
Josh get started on the Recce

I think we worked almost perfectly today and we got a lot done.

I fixed the treatment, finished the script and I found a new location for us to film because
I'm the director. Varsity in Cambridge. It’s a restaurant that has given us 9-12am
whenever we need the venue.
-How successful you were in those tasks 
We were successful, we weren't slow other than Toby. We had to push for him to do the work.
-discuss what you need to do to improve on and do differently during production
I think we worked almost perfectly today and we got a lot done.

I did all the calling for locations and found the restaurant.

As the director, I helped the producer complete the final parts of pre-production, just need to
finish off the storyboards.
-How successful you were in those tasks 
We weren’t slow at starting and despite me being in an exam during a portion of the lesson we
worked well and got what we needed to done.

We worked well, it would have been better for the group if I hadn't been in an exam.

We changed the script to the feedback we had and we will be having another look at it tomorrow.

We were slow at starting but we worked relatively well

We didn't have Ben with us today and if we did then the whole group could have been fixing the
script. Him and I were the main scriptwriters for the short film so him being here.

We developed our idea and then I did the scriptwriting. I haven't finished it but it should be finished
tomorrow.

I got in early to evaluate the script and I feel we were successful with that. I could have done more
scriptwriting today but we were talking about our idea, trying to harden it down.

Today we had Ben here so after he looked over preproduction we did the scriptwriting necessary.

We finally finished our script and grabbed our equipment.

We were successful with what needed to be done. We have also distributed the scripts to
everyone for our shooting day.

We were producing the short film but got kicked out as they hadn’t made us aware that we only
had roughly half an hour rather than the 3 hours that was planned due to their cleaning schedule.
We did work well and as the director, I was as organised as I could be in order to make a good
film. On the fly, we tried to fix it by changing location within the film but it didn't work well.
-How successful you were in those tasks 
We weren’t successful with the shoot but we were as organised as possible and improvised what
we could too.
-discuss what you need to do to improve on and do differently during production
We are finding a different male protagonist and we are going to be using a different location. We
will also develop the script a little before the due date.
-highlight when you did something beyond your job role 
For different parts of the shoots, I had to do the camerawork and/or the sound design due to
crew attendance. Ben left after 10 mins of setting up, Josh was on time and toby was just a little
bit late but got stuck in traffic on his way down.
11th November

We were as organised as possible but weren’t too productive

We need to become better with organising reshoots so that we can complete the project.

We continued blocking and seemed to get quite far. This time we were blocking with the actors so
that we know what we are doing for the scheduled day. As the director, I organised our time with
the actors to get us all blocked so we know what to do on our shoots.

We were as organised as possible and were more productive

We got a little more done with blocking. Toby was very distracted and complained about the work
but we have sorted it.

We continued blocking and seemed to get quite far. We were blocking with the actors so that we
know what we are doing for the scheduled day

We were as organised as possible and were as productive as before

We got more done with blocking. Toby decided to stay in the lesson and tweak our Pre-Production

We were out shooting and managed to complete the project.

We were as organised as possible and completed what we needed to. Despite being advised,
Toby didn't use a tripod. Therefore most of the camera work is shaky at best.
-discuss what you need to do to improve on and do differently during production
Toby should have used a camera and should have let me have input as the director over what
equipment was used like a tripod or shoulder mount. Most of the short film was completely
freehand.

Josh and I had to do the camera settings on Toby’s camera as he didn’t know-how. 
21st November

Toby logged the shots while ben fixed the set designs and location recce. Josh
and I sat down and fixed our diaries, treatment and redid the risk assessment.

We were as organised as possible and completed all the tasks except the logging within the
timeframe. Toby was getting distracted on Instagram and other social media outlets.
-discuss what you need to do to improve on and do differently during production
Toby could have been more focused and the group could have been less divided. Josh and I
were clearly working together with Ben but Toby had outcasted himself.
