Final Cut

Here is my diary
Summary
I feel like my skills as a Director have grown from where they were at previously, I've addressed all the points that I needed to develop my skills and become better as a director.

Personally, I feel it was good working within the group, although it was difficult to find suitable locations for shoots. We were working in a group of four and had three actors helping us that I personally recruited. Originally we were going to film in a restaurant but we needed to settle for a place called Thirsty on Chesterton Road in Cambridge. As the Director, I did my role and helped the Producer with anything he needed. He and I excelled in the pre-production and production. We individually edited the short film and have picked the best one. We originally were going to film in Varsity on Regent Street in Cambridge but the venue wasn’t available last minute on the shooting day.

During production, we had to change location which was annoying but we found a replacement. It wasn't as good but I feel like we managed well and succeeded with what was required. During the film shoot, I, as the director, advised the cinematographer on what I felt would be a good idea and we discussed some shots together too. I think that if we had the original location the end product would have been better. The working environment was safe and we didn't need to rely on any adult assistance or supervision.

I’m proud of the film we have made and how Josh and I handled the scheduling for the actors and venue. Although the cinematographer could have used a tripod when advised, I feel like we did well working together when we needed to.
